UX/UI for Cramer Aiconic app, that allows user to control Cramers newest robotic lawn mower - AiConic.
Roles: UX Researcher / Branding / Visual Design
Year: 2024 - 2025
Project Goal
Take over an in progress project and redesign the Cramer AiConic robotic mower app from the ground up, adding new features and adapting the UX for a fully native build.
What Was Broken
Outdated UI inherited from the older Cramer Connect app.
Core AiConic mower functions were missing entirely.
User flows were not intuitive, navigation was clunky and inconsistent.
The inherited app had many bugs.

My Approach
Step 1: Project Takeover
Onboarded via knowledge transfer from the previous designer.
Reviewed all Figma files, Jira tickets, and app versions.
Step 2: UX Audit
Tested the current app build and flagged usability issues.
Documented what worked, what didn’t, and what was missing.
Highlighted inconsistencies in user flows and screen logic.
Step 3: Cross-Team Collaboration
Worked closely with product owners, engineers, and developers to realign features and screens.
Adjusted designs as hardware testing revealed real world limitations.

Design Strategy
Rebuilt UI for Native Platform: Native development meant I could clean up the interface and make design changes.
Created RTK Specific Flows: Reimagined mower setup screens to support satellite navigation, replacing wire based UX from older models.
Added Core Features: Designed new interfaces for installation guide, remote control, zone creations, zone editing, schedule, settings etc...
Fast Iteration: Due to hardware and firmware development running in parallel, design decisions were made quickly and updated on the fly.
Real Constraints
Brand Restrictions: Strict Cramer brand guidelines limited color use and visual styling.
Tight Timeline: Hardware and app were built in sync, no time for multiple design explorations.
Limited Testing Window: I left the company before full implementation, was not able to test the final release.

Key Challenge
RTK changed everything. The AiConic mower used satellite navigation, which means no wires needed. That required a total UX rethink:
Setup flows, mowing zones, error handling, schedule all needed redesigned from scratch.
I had to imagine use cases that didn’t exist in older models and work closely with engineers to validate each decision.

Outcome
All design work and improvements were approved by stakeholders.
Internal users responded positively to the cleaner UI and more logical flows.
